ABOUT STAGNIGHT
As far as I know, StagNight is the only slash archive focused on James Potter, and is the largest collection of quality James slash in one place. It's been running, in different forms, since March 2001. Making the archive over 5 and a half years old! Older than pretty much all major HP slash archives.
With both StagNight and the Potter Slash Archive, I've always aimed for archives that are easy to navigate, with categorized fiction and art so people can find what they want, with easy to read formats and pretty layouts. I'm so proud that my archives are still going strong after so many years. If you have any comments or questions, feel free to contact me :)
HISTORY
The archive started as a James slash archive called Forever Now in March 2001 because after reading HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban I was intrigued by James and liked the thought of the whole new world that could be created in stories from his era. Plus, I pictured him to look a lot like Harry, who I adored. There were so few James slash stories around that I wanted to group them all together.
At this stage, fanfiction.net was the only big fanfiction source around, and didn't have character searches yet and had a tendency to crash every few weeks. So it was very hard (and on occasion impossible) to find what you wanted. Hogwart's Library: The Restricted Section was starting to create a section of links to slash stories on ff.net, but was useless if ff.net crashed. So I decided to make a slash archive independent of ffn.net; a site where there was only slash, which was easy to use and find stories and was not dependent on any other archive. I then decided to add Harry pairings to the archive because he's my other favourite character and The Potter Slash Archive was born.
The PSA existed in this form for about four years. In late 2005 I decided that the PSA was too much work for me. As I result, I split the Harry and James sections and handed over the Harry section to new moderators. Thus, StagNight was created, along with the associated livejournal.
StagNight is still very much associated with the PSA, it was just easier to make them separate identities because they are now run by different people. If you find any broken links, please let me know, they are probably related to the separation of the two archives; I'm still smoothing out the crinkles.
