OLD RECOMMENDATIONS

A list of old James recs from PSA (quite pathetic). Comments were written on the date given, and may be out of date/no longer relevant, sorry. Remember these are just suggestions :)

Newest to oldest.

06.02.05:

Found Altars (J/S) by Setissma;

Author: Oscura (especially October and This Year).

22.08.04.

Authors: Switchknife. There is no way I could not rec Sirius/Harry/Sirius and Sirius/Harry/James, that is this god, guh, gorgeous, hot, descriptive and beautiful. And hot, did I mention hot? Switchknife's usual amazing style, though not quite as dark. And if you want dark, then just go for Aria, which is just as amazing and intense.

Setissma. I've realised that whatever Setissma writes, I'm going to love. Everything is just so beautiful and effective and moving, and the writing is just gorgeous. I loved the character dynamics of the Marauders in Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man, and the sad, stark finality in Silence.

What I'd like to see more of: James/Severus. Lyntek drew J/S and I realised that I haven't seen any fiction or art of the pairing for ages, what happened? As Lyntek prompted, the Jock vs Nerd dynamic has so much potential.

Aristeia Universe (Aristeia, And They Lived Happily Ever After, Into the West, Dane Geld, Unrequited, Black and White) by Eumenides (Sirius/J) - I think this is the first novel-length Sirius/James I've read. And, wow, how did I miss it until now? It is the most heartbreakingly beautiful, clever, deep, satisfying Sirius/James. And the fact that there's a number of fics in the same universe just builds on the emotion and events and makes it so real. I can so see myself thinking of this as canon from now on, because of the way Eumenides has tied everything so correctly into all the hints JKR has given us about Harry's parents' backstory. Wonderful and tragic and a must-read for James/Sirius fans.

Black and White by Eumenides (S/J, S/R) - so beautiful and deep, a wonderful look at Sirius'character after Azkaban.

When Most He Plays the Devil by Nimori (J/H - CHAN) - god this is amazing. The first I read in a wave of new James/Harry fics, and wow, everyone else had, and has, a lot to live up too. So so hot, and both Harry and James are so real, all parental concern mixed with temptation, and teenage uncertainty and hesitation but trusting in your parent. And so so wonderful together. I have always loved anyone with Harry, and anyone with James, and the two of them together is just, god, I can't even describe how wonderful, especially when it's realistic and written this well.

Thank You, Sirius Black by Mosh (J/H - CHAN) - Another wonderful Harry/James. I'm a much bigger fan of the AU, normal father/son interaction, rather than coming back from the dead, squicky fics, and this fits perfectly into the first category. If James fucking himself isn't hot enough, I have no words for the James/Harry, just guuh, gorgeous, so so hot, and brilliantly written. I love how Mosh wrote James in this, all fatherly and conflicting, and who could resist her Harry? He is all beautiful and innocent and wanting it. And Best Orgasm Ever. It just captured it so well. Just brilliant.

YMDA by Libertine (J/Sev) - This is old, and I'm only now just getting around to archiving Lib's stuff, but it deserves reccing here. It's just so much fun, Lucius is hilarious, and Severus is all sarcastic and idignant. Fun fun fun.

Like The Finest Gold by Cedar (Lucius/J) - I've been meaning to archive this for ages, and finally got around to it. This is beautiful, the writing is in second person--which you either love or hate it guess--and makes the story unique. I loved the whole situation, and the feelings, and James' perspective. It's something that was done very early on in the H/D fics, but there are few Lucius/James like this.

Authors: Mosh, because I enjoyed every single story, and desperately look forward to what new stories she'll come up with next. Mosh's stories are wonderfully written, beautiful, hot hot hot and so satisfying.

Six Long Years on Your Trail by Victoria P. (J/S, H/R). It's just so beautiful and simple, and there's all the angst of loving someone that's not really yours. And it helps that both pairings are my current favourites :)

Five Ways Sirius, James and Remus Never Had Sex with Each Other series by Sam Vimes, Casira and Victoria P. (J/R/S). God, so hot and so so wonderful. The scenarios themselves are great to start with, and are built on so wonderfully by feelings, and touches and angst. And with such brilliant writing the final results are amazing.

Healing Touch by Casira (R/J). The first line is "James was, when it came to injuries, a big baby." which straight away had my attention, hehe. To help out James, Remus has to put his hands all over him... I'm sure you can guess the rest. Wonderful characterisation, tenderness and passion.

Authors: Sam Vimes. Every single story archived is just brilliant. Everything is done so well, the characterisation and believable feelings and wonderful smut. All are definitely worth checking out, even if you don't usually read James slash.

Mutual Favours by RubyKate (J/S). "You're my best friend, so you can teach me how to..." Yep, this is one of my favourite situations. Experimentation and boy talk <3

Learning to Fight by Setissma (J/S). This is so fiery and hot. Sirius and James stuck inside with tensions running high... *drools*

Kimagure, for wonderful Remus/James, read them all! I admit that I haven't read much Remus fic, but from my experience he usually takes a backseat next to James and Sirius' strong personalities. Kimagure's Remus is no doormat, and I love his fierceness and 'I won't take any crap' attitude. *loves Kimagure's Remus*

Blow [J/Sirius] by lah. This is sweet and simple and lovely. It manages to capture the innocence of growing up between two close friends even though it's short. Wonderful.

He Who Lives More Than One [J/Sirius] by Meadowsweet, is so beautiful, sad and touching. It's the final installment in a series, and I love the way the pairing is portrayed at the end of it all. The first two are worth checking out, and I don't think this fic would be as powerful without reading them first.

Snake in the Grass [J/Lucius] by moonlight69. There aren't that many really good James/Lucius, but this is definetly one of them. I love the power dynamics between them and the intensity of the moment is wonderful.

Authors: Elise for gorgeous, touching, powerful James/Sirius. All of her fics are beautiful.

**

16.02.03: Losing Again by Amalin for a beautiful and sad James/Lucius.

**

27.11.02: Hidden [J/Sev, H/Sev] by McKay for a simple and beautiful piece.
